With the codename Disco Dingo, Lubuntu 19.04 is the 16th release of Lubuntu and the second release of Lubuntu with LXQt as the default desktop environment. Soon after that my Live run of Lubuntu 16.04 was connected to the Internet. Network drive There is an option to browse the local network in the Lubuntu's default file manager PCManFM 1.2.4. although it is not visible in the left-hand panel, but available through the menu Go. I used that function to navigate to my shared network drive and browse it. After installing lubuntu 14 I've noticed I've not ethernet connection to my router. I tried to remove Network Manager and setting "interfaces" to dhcp but no way. The same using static. I've also tried to make dhclient, but the pc continues to searc with no response. It does mean that it is prepared and developed for low-specification sudo service network-manager stop … etc. “sudo” runs the command as the root user, which is not the same (has more powers) even than making your user a member of all admin groups. Maybe the OP is running always as root (!!!! gasp!) and didn’t think of sudo because of that. An Alternative to Ubuntu network manager is systemd-networkd, which is the default backend service in Ubuntu server 18.04. So if you want to disable the NetworkManager, then the networkd service should be enabled, while it is better to disable networkd service when network manager is running. Jun 20, 2014 · There are some interesting things about it like the terminal/curses optional menu. Also, I have OpenBox with Cairo-Dock and Wicd is an app in the dock. I'm not sure if NetworkManager can be setup in CairoDock that way. I believe Wicd is supposed to use less resources to. Otherwise, I have used Network Manager many times in LXDE or Xfce.
