Aug 20, 2017 · Even if we're using ordinary DNS (instead of, say, dnscrypt), the DNS server should only know that a cryptostorm user did a lookup for a given domain name. The fear is that the DNS query gets passed to the router, which sends it to the ISP's DNS servers instead of through the VPN tunnel. DNSCrypt is a protocol that authenticates communications between a DNS client and a DNS resolver. It prevents DNS spoofing. It prevents DNS spoofing.
